Transfer news LIVE: Man Utd signing ‘very close’, Griezmann to Liverpool backed, Chelsea | Football | Sport

08:25 UPDATE: Hazard worry

Eden Hazard reckons Chelsea’s transfer ban could scupper his dream move to Real Madrid.

The Sun say the Belgium is worried the ban could stop Chelsea from selling him this summer.

Hazard, 28, is out of contract next summer and is desperate to join the Spanish giants.

FIFA hit the Blues with a two-window transfer ban, however, the case will now go to the Court of Arbitration for Sport.

08:00 UPDATE: Man Utd signing ‘close’

Man Utd boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is close to completing a deal to bring Kalidou Koulibaly to Old Trafford.

Solskjaer is set for a busy summer as they looks to overhaul his current squad.

Napoli defender Koulibaly is believed to be a prime target for Solskjaer having impressed in Serie A this season.

And talkSPORT host Andy Goldstein believes a deal to take the Senegalese star to Old Trafford is imminent.

He said: “The Koulibaly thing, I’ve heard good things that him coming to Utd is very close.”

07:40 UPDATE: Griezmann to Liverpool backed

Liverpool have been backed to sign Antoine Griezmann after Atletico Madrid announced the striker will leave this summer.

ESPN FC pundit Craig Burley said: “I actually think that Liverpool would be a great place for Griezmann to go this summer.

“Liverpool are very much a team on the up at the moment and he could aid Roberto Firmino who also likes to drop deep.

“Liverpool are a huge club who are fighting for league titles with Manchester City and have reached the last two Champions League finals.

“I don’t know if they have got enough money to do it but I wouldn’t go to Manchester United, that’s for sure.

“You talk about how good Griezmann would be linking up with Messi and Barcelona, what about with Liverpool’s front three?

“You look at that and we talk about Liverpool needing that strength in depth, he would add that and Firmino or Salah some games might sit out.”

07:20 UPDATE: Arsenal eyeing FIVE signings

Arsenal boss Unai Emery could look to sign players in five different positions this summer – but he has earmarked two particular priorities, David Ornstein of BBC Sport claims.

Ornstein told BBC Radio 5 Live Sport: “Despite still waiting to appoint a technical director, sporting director, director of football, they have identified targets and conversations are underway.

“They’re looking for experience and youth in their recruitment. Their priorities are a central defender and a box-to-box midfielder.

“Previously in January they came close to a deal for Christopher Nkunku from PSG. This is of course is to replace Aaron Ramsey [who is joining Juventus on a free transfer].

“[PSG’s] Adrien Rabiot is among the players they’ve tried to sign in the past and have a long-standing interest in but he’s quite a complex individual and has had some issues off the pitch.

“As a secondary brief they’d be looking at a wide forward. In January they came close to a deal for Ivan Perisic and had interest in Yannick Carrasco.

“Possibly a centre forward with Danny Welbeck leaving. Eddie Nketiah would then go out on loan if they brought a centre forward in.

“There is interest in bringing in a left back and possibly a right back, but again, those are secondary to the central defender and box-to-box midfielder.”

07:00 UPDATE: Jovic to Chelsea on?

Chelsea have the edge over Manchester United in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt star Luka Jovic, despite the Blues’ transfer ban.

If the ban is put on hold, Chelsea will make their move for Jovic this summer.

And according to Football.London, there’s one thing that is giving them the edge over United, who are also said to be interested in the Serb.

Chelsea have qualified for next season’s Champions League, which the report also states is of high importance to Jovic.

United missed out on the Champions League after finishing sixth in the league this season.
