Judi Dench net worth: How much has the legendary actress made?

Judi Dench has a very successful career as an actress. From her professional debut in 1957 with the Old Vic Company, to her role as “M” in the James Bond films, the English actress has become one of the biggest household names in Hollywood. She’s currently travelling more than 560km down Borneo’s Kinabatangan river and along the island’s coastline to explore the unique wildlife that lives in this threatened environment in her new ITV show, Judi Dench’s Wild Borneo Adventure. Recently, she topped People with Money’s list for the highest paid actresses. So with a career that spans over six decades, how much is the legendary star worth?

Judi’s current net worth is said to be $35 million, which is equivalent to £28 million.

The actress has amassed such wealth from her multiple film roles and theatre productions, as well as smart stock investments.

Judi made her professional debut in 1957 with the Old Vic Company.

Over the following few years, she performed in several of Shakespeare’s plays, starring as Ophelia in Hamlet, Juliet in Romeo and Juliet, and Lady Macbeth in Macbeth.

Although most of her work during this period was in theatre, she also branched into film work and won a BAFTA Award as Most Promising Newcomer. She drew strong reviews for her leading role in the musical Cabaret in 1968.

Judi reached international fame when she was cast as head of secret service “M” in Golden Eye. From there, she went on to star in the following James Bond films up until 2015 when she starred in Spectre.

A seven-time Oscar nominee, Dench won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Queen Elizabeth I in Shakespeare in Love, and has received nominations for her roles in Mrs Brown, Iris, Chocolat, Mrs Henderson Presents, Notes on a Scandal, and Philomena (2013).

In her role as “M”, Judi was the only cast member to be carried through the Brosnan films to Martin Campbell’s reboot of the James Bond film series.

Casino Royale came out in 2006, starring Daniel Craig in his debut performance as the fictional MI6 agent and it received rave reviews.

It earned over $594 million (£476 million) worldwide, ranking it among the highest-grossing James Bond films ever released.

Judging by the film’s success, the actress must have earned a considerable amount for her continuous role as “M.”

2015 onwards

Recently, Judi has made waves for her appearance in The Winter’s Tale. She won Best Actress in a Supporting Role, making Oliver Award history and breaking her own record with her eighth win as a performer.

In September 2017, the website LADBible posted a video of Dench rapping with UK Grime MC Lethal Bizzle.

The collaboration came about with the slang term “dench”, which is used as a compliment.

The video currently has 333,570 views on YouTube, and is likely to have introduced Judi to younger fans.

This year, the actress will star as Old Deuteronomy in the film adaptation of Cats alongside Jennifer Hudson, James Corden, and Idris Elba. The role is likely to boost Judi’s net worth even more.

This Morning presenter Phillip Schofield’s eyewatering fortune was recently revealed.

According to Spear’s magazine, the 57-year-old has made millions of pounds  through his TV gigs, which includes Dancing on Ice.
